Kelly Hall Tarn 2024 Project

At the start of the year I decided to start a new project. it needed to be achievable and so it had to be local.

Kelly Hall Tarn is a small tarn in Torver in the Lake District National Park. There is parking very near by and it is an easy walk from the car park. It is an area I have visited regularly over the years and has become a firm favourite but I had never really spent time just spending time by the tarn and watching the changes as the seasons come and go.

So far, I have been able to visit the tarn at least one in each month. Sometimes I am there alone and at other times there are like minded photographers to chat to while we wait for the light to arrive before finally capturing our images and heading home.

I am really looking forward to returning over the months ahead and to seeing the changes brought about by nature doing its own thing,

This is an image I took when I visited on the 27 April 2024:

I loved the light being reflected in the water and leading the eye to the pine tree and the delicate purple hue
